Release of the new version of the BNP Paribas Mes Comptes app
A lookback on a structuring project, at the crossroads of design, technology, and internal organization.

After three years of collaboration between the teams at BNP Paribas and Source.paris, the new version of the application Mes Comptes is finally available. This redesign marks the fourth one we have accomplished together since 2015, with two projects carried out for BNP Paribas and two for Hello bank!.
In the role of Product Design Expert, I support managers and lead designers to organize teams (Product design, Design System) and ensure the consistency and quality of the customer experience.
I also propose a quick overview of this redesign from three angles: Design, Tech, and Organizational.
Navigation and UI
Beyond a modernization of the interface, the main change concerns ergonomics, with a new tab bar menu featuring 5 tabs, and the abandonment of the burger menu which had 17 entries.
A Discover tab makes its appearance in this tab bar and allows for highlighting products and services. It also lays the groundwork for educational content: “Expert Opinions”.
Design Language System

On the technical side, this iOS application also marks a turning point. It is the first BNP Parobas product built on the Design Language System and the Tokens that we created and launched in 2023 with Source.paris.
This common foundation enables BNP Paribas to ensure a consistent user experience across all its digital platforms while speeding up the development and maintenance of interfaces. (A dedicated article will follow very soon!)
Change Management

Behind the scenes, this redesign has led to significant changes in the role and perception of design within the company.
The shift to a tab bar limited to 5 tabs prompted a global reflection on the positioning and access to certain features. Previously, with a burger menu that had infinite potential entries, the topic quickly became political, with everyone wanting their place.
The same goes for the Design System, which changes the way development teams work and allows for better collaboration with design teams. It also marks a cultural shift, with UX designer and UI designer roles evolving into the role of product designer, made possible through the Design System.
A big thank you to the teams at BNP Paribas BCEF for their renewed trust.
